The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow has officially released the examination schedule for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2023. The complete schedule is accessible on the official website, iimcat.ac.in.
As per the official notification, the registration process for CAT 2023 will commence on August 2 at 10 am, and candidates will have until September 13 at 5 pm to apply for the test. Admit cards will be made available from October 25 at 5 pm, and Indian Institutes of Management will conduct the computer-based Common Admission Test 2023 (CAT 2023) on November 26, 2023.
Three separate sessions will be used for this crucial test. The official CAT website offers comprehensive details about the CAT 2023, including all of its subtleties.
For individuals trying to get into one of the many Post Graduate and Fellow/Doctorate programmes offered by the IIMs, the CAT 2023 is a prerequisite. Additionally, a list of non-IIM member institutions that accept and recognise the CAT 2023 scores is accessible for viewing on the CAT website.
It’s important to remember that while the IIMs manage the CAT 2023, they have no control over or input into how these non-IIM universities choose their applicants. The CAT 2023 scores are used by these independently operating institutions in accordance with their own selection criteria and selection processes.
The test duration will be 120 minutes and will consist of three sections:
1. Section 1: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
2. Section 2: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
3. Section 3: Quantitative Ability
Candidates will be allocated precisely 40 minutes for answering questions in each section and will not be allowed to switch between sections while answering questions. CAT 2023 will be held in various test centers across approximately 155 test cities. Candidates will have the option to select any six test cities in order of their preference.
The registration fee for candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories is Rs 1200, while for all other categories, it is Rs 2,400. The fee is non-refundable and needs to be paid only once, even if the candidate is applying for multiple institutions.

CAT 2023 registration fee:-
- Registration fee of the CAT exam has increased for all categories. For unreserved candidates, the fee is ₹2,400 while it was ₹2,300 last year.
- For SC, ST and PwD candidates, the fee has increased to ₹1200 from last year’s ₹1150.
Last year, the entrance exam was conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM)-Bangalore. The registrations for CAT 2022 had begun in the first week of August, and candidates were given time until September 14 to complete the application process. However, the deadline was extended to September 21.
