Instagram Crash for Thousands of Users
This is not the first time the app has had such problems as two weeks ago many users suggested that they and other users were having the same experience.
On October 30, many people took to Twitter to express their disappointment as they revealed their app was crashing just 30 seconds into the mobile version. Several users also noted that it was rocketing downward exponentially. This is not the first time this has happened to those using Android phones as well as iPhone users.
How to Fix Instagram Crashing
Instagram performs minor fixes for many users and prepares iOS and Android phones for new app versions. You sometimes experience the app crash issue when there has a major upgrade in platform or device. Users resolve their crashes using a handful methods.
How to Fix Instagram Crashing Android
Instagram was crashing on numerous Android devices in Q1 and Q2 of 2018. Problems of this nature are not excessively common but they do arise on occasion. Instagram rolled out a repair that resolved the bug automatically and Android users were not required to do anything outside of their standard automatic updates. The patch worked on most phones, although a small percentage of phones would not push the update live. In these cases, Instagram simply asked the users to uninstall the app, then execute a fresh install from Google Play. This fix resolved the Android Instagram error.
How to update Instagram on Android:-
- Open the Play Store.
- Press the ‘Menu‘ icon.
- Tap ‘My Apps & Games.
- Press ‘Update‘ next to Instagram or ‘Update All‘ to update all apps.
How to Fix Instagram Crashing in iPhone
There are several methods to addressing crashes on iOS model phones. The first is to close all background apps by pressing the homescreen button twice and swiping up to close your apps. If they are running too long in the background, a crash might occur. If that does not work then:-
- Try a restart
- Power down the phone completely
- Wait a few minutes then restart the phone
- Test the app after the phone is restarted
If the app is still crashing, check your phone for updates. If the latest version of Instagram is not installed, your app is more likely to crash. Push any updates available for Instagram specifically or for the operating system as a whole. If the problem persists, uninstall the Instagram app then do a fresh re-install and test again. This should fix the problem. If it does not fix the crash, your phone may be the issue, not the app itself.
